Finnish hot tub experience in Lapland
There are few things more relaxing than soaking in a steaming hot tub surrounded by snow and silence. A Finnish hot tub offers a special way to enjoy the Arctic outdoors, especially in wintertime. The warm water, heated to around +38°C, creates a wonderful contrast to the crisp Lapland air, making it a perfect experience for couples, families, or friends looking to unwind under the northern sky.

Availability in our accommodations
You can add a private hot tub to most of our cabin accommodations. The only exception is our newest cabins, which already include a jacuzzi-style outdoor tub as part of the package, no extra charge.

Spending time in a Finnish hot tub in Lapland is not just about bathing, it’s about slowing down and enjoying the moment. Whether you’re surrounded by falling snow, starry skies, or even the northern lights, the combination of warm water and peaceful scenery creates a truly memorable experience.
Hot tubs are also a great way to spend quality time with loved ones. They invite conversation, laughter, and stillness, all in a cozy outdoor setting. After a day of skiing, snowshoeing, or simply enjoying nature, there’s nothing better than ending your evening in a warm tub.
How a Finnish hot tub is heated
Our traditional wooden hot tubs are heated using firewood. The process takes around 4 to 6 hours, depending on outdoor temperatures. Here’s how it works:
- Water is first filled into the tub (we do this for you).
- The firebox is lit with dry firewood.
- Wood is added regularly every 15–20 minutes to keep the temperature rising.
- Once the water reaches +38°C, the hot tub is ready to enjoy.
After your bath, you should cover the hot tub to retain the heat longer. We’ll take care of emptying the tub after your experience.
Maintaining warmth after heating
Once your hot tub has reached the ideal temperature, it’s time to enjoy it. If the outside temperature is very cold, we recommend adding a small amount of firewood approximately once every hour to maintain a steady heat level. Avoid adding logs too frequently (like every 15–20 minutes) once the tub is already warm, as this can cause the water to become uncomfortably hot.
After you’re done using the hot tub for the evening, we kindly ask that you leave it as it is. We will take care of emptying and cleaning the tub the next day. There is no need for you to handle any maintenance after your soak.
Two heating options for your convenience
We want your hot tub experience to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. That’s why we offer two options:
- Self-heated hot tub: You get to enjoy the full experience of heating the hot tub yourself. Firewood is provided.
- Pre-heated hot tub: We take care of everything and have your hot tub ready when you arrive.
Both options let you enjoy the same peaceful moment, surrounded by nature.
