Why biking is the perfect way to explore Lapland
A sense of freedom you can’t get in a car
Biking lets you go where cars can’t. Ride along forest trails, frozen lakeshores, or winding gravel roads through remote villages. Hear the crunch of snow under your tires or the breeze through pine trees in summer. This is freedom, Lapland-style.
Eco-friendly and sustainable
Biking is one of the greenest ways to travel. No noise, no emissions, just you, your bike, and nature. When you choose biking in Lapland, you’re helping to preserve the purity of the north, while enjoying it up close.
Great for your body and mind
Cycling is a full-body workout that boosts your stamina, strengthens muscles, and clears your mind. Pedaling through peaceful landscapes is as energizing as it is calming, a combination of movement and mindfulness you’ll carry with you long after your ride.

Where to bike in Lapland
Peaceful forest trails
Ride into the silence of Lapland’s spruce and pine forests. These flat, quiet paths are ideal for beginners or anyone wanting a relaxing ride in nature.
Hills and terrain for adventure
Looking for a challenge? Try one of the hillier routes near the fells. Conquer rolling terrain and enjoy rewarding views from the top. These trails are perfect for more experienced bikers.
Picnic spots and scenic stops
Pack snacks and take a break by a lake, lean-to shelter (laavu), or scenic overlook. Most trails offer beautiful places to rest, have lunch, or just breathe in the fresh northern air.
Ride into Arctic light
In summer, enjoy biking under the Midnight Sun, when golden light lasts all night. Stop and soak in the surreal glow as shadows stretch endlessly across the landscape.
In autumn, ride through fiery red and yellow forests, while in winter, you can cruise through snow-laden trees under blue hour skies, or even catch the Northern Lights dancing above you.
